Great Get Together

In celebration of Jo Cox’s belief that ‘we have far more in common with others than things that divide us’ we are holding a Great Get Together event on Saturday 23 June, in a bid to reduce isolation and loneliness amongst Harlow residents.

The event will be held in partnership with Rainbow Services, the GPCA and Harlow Council and will provide the chance for local people of all ages to be a part of this national celebration. The event will be held in the Playbarn and the grassed area opposite GPCA Abercrombie Way (next to Staple Tye paddling pool) and will be open to all.  Guests will be encouraged to bring and share cakes and biscuits.

We would like to invite organisations to provide a free activity for guests to participate in.  We are also seeking sponsorship from local businesses to provide refreshments and sundries for the many visitors that will come to join in the celebration.  We will also need many volunteers to help set up, serve refreshments and clear up on the day.  But most importantly we need people to strike up a conversation!  An hour or two of your time would be greatly appreciated.

If you would like to get involved and be part of this local event please email me at  by 19 February. We can then develop our plans further to include interested partners.

If you wish to hold your own event and join in the national celebration please see further information on the following website
